Two more great reads this week. While I read these a while ago, they've lingered in my mind for quite a while. For me, that's a good sign of a great read, something you think about again and again.
Check these out when you can and enjoy!
Self-Made Monsters
By Rebecca Cuthbert
Introduction by Laurel Hightower
Self-Made Monsters by Rebecca Cuthbert is a dark and disturbing collection of short stories and verses that speak on feminine rage. While issuing a clear message with regards to women and society’s treatment and/or built in expectations of them, there is also quiet horror within, pulsing softly, rippling along the pages, eating its way into your brain and your bones.
Read it. Then read it again. Let it soak in until you get it. Sometimes, the scariest part is what is left unsaid. Cuthbert excels in this.
Masterful and powerful, highly recommended reading.

Expectus Mortem
By M. Betterelli
At a mere 42 pages, this chapbook packs a punch. The journey of a woman seeking answers to her recurring nightmare, finds more than she ever expected.
In a world full of chaos, tortured souls, and immense suffering, will she be a catalyst for change or catastrophe?
Betterelli’s expert pacing propels the reader along through a tale of suspense, dread, and mounting horror all the way through to the last page.
Highly recommend!
*This was an exclusive chapbook put into the Books of Horror book boxes last year. Stay tuned for updates on a full release.
