Can never go wrong with any story from Ronald Kelly and these two collections were fun, creepy, and full of moments that made me look over my shoulder.
Cumberland Furnace and Other Fear Forged Fables contains seven tales that could only beat in the dark, diseased heart of Dixie…as the description says.
This is another great collection from Ronald Kelly, one of the original pulp horror legends and these stories are just further testament to his broad range and impeccable skill. Spending time with these stories feels a bit like sitting on your granddad’s porch, on a crisp summer day in the mountains while he regales you with stories from his past, all while sipping moonshine from glass jars and an apple pie cools on the porch.
The slight breeze that blows at dusk sends a chill up your spine and the shadows begin to grow just as his stories come to a close. Later that night, tucked into your bed, when the scratches outside the window begin, and your eyes dart from door to corner to window and back, you can only wonder if the stories were merely stories, or something more?
It’s a great listen on audio, and at only 2.5 hours, can help meet those reading goals for the year.

Twilight Hankerings consists of short stories that delve into vampire and werewolf lore, and a few other beasts that often get ravenous during the night. These stories were perfect to listen to before bed, while working from home during some downtime, and even while doing some household chores.
They pull you in, keep you immersed, and creep you out all while helping you pass the time in a perfectly delightful way. This is a short listen at just over 2.5 hours and is a great way to meet those TBR goals for the year!
